Men get left out right?

Did you know? In England, around one in eight men has a common mental health problem such as depression, anxiety, panic disorder or obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD). Not just that but:
.
  • Three times as many men as women die by suicide.
  • Men aged 40-49 have the highest suicide rates in the UK.
  • Men report lower levels of life satisfaction than women according to the Government’s national wellbeing survey.
  • Men are less likely to access psychological therapies than women: only 36% of referrals to NHS talking therapies are for men.
  • Men are also far more likely than women to go missing, sleep rough, become dependent on alcohol and use drugs frequently.
We at Geeza ask ourselves everyday why this is... We feel that we have a responsibility to try and change these shocking statistics through the work we do in the community and for mental health in general.
.
Geeza men is 100% committed to supporting positive mental health in men.
Every year we make a donation through the Geeza foundation to a range of Charities that share our aim.
We've started to partner with charities that share our aim. We update this list regularly as we find more organisations worth supporting.
